Studio Bokehgo are casting for a forthcoming independent, artistic children’s fantasy film rooted in warmth, imagination, and adventure.
ROLES
Child (any gender / any ethnicity)
Playing age: 10–14
Looking for: charm, kindness, confidence, curiosity, a sense of adventure.
Father
Playing age: 30s–40s (white – parent to two white children in story. Irish heritage welcomed in relation to story elements, though this is not a requirement).
Gentle, emotionally present, sensitive, curious, deeply loving.(Actors who are parents are encouraged, though this is not essential.)

Project Type: Independent / self-funded / passion-led
Payment: This is a self-funded independent project; terms will be discussed openly and individually with shortlisted actors.
This is a film about imagination, belief, family, and the quiet magic of adventure. It is family-friendly in spirit, while remaining artful, cinematic and character-led. We are seeking actors who are comfortable with grounded, calm acting styles.
This is an initial callout and we are keeping the application process intentionally simple, in respect of artists’ time. Further details will only be requested at shortlist stage. Unless requested otherwise, we will happily add you to our database of actors, as we have plenty of films in the works.

John Slemensek-Thorne is the director of Studio Bokehgo, a socially conscious film studio. This will be his debut feature and is a bold, ambitious, and deeply personal project.
John’s process is rooted in building a close, respectful creative community. Many of the cast have been discovered over years of collaboration, with roles shaped around who they are as people as well as their talent.
We are seeking artists who love the magic of cinema, value kindness and collaboration, and are excited to help create something heartfelt, imaginative, and truly unique. Actors will be invited into the development of their characters in a gentle, empowering, and soulful way.
