Filmmaking for me is a way of life - it has guided my journey through the world and brought me joy, knowledge, and dreams.
And now as I celebrate 10 years of being a professional filmmaker, it is the time to dream really big - and so I have announced my 500 day challenge to making my debut feature film.
Since being a little boy, cinema has moved me in profound ways. And so I had to pick up the camera and start making stories for the people and projects I believe in. I am entirely self taught as a filmmaker.
This project is about me expressing my deep love for film.
Everyday I make short form films for projects I deeply care about. This challenge is here to push me as an artist, so I can be an even better storyteller, whoever I might be making the story for. And I hope it will inspire others to do this. I want this to be a movement of filmmakers knowing their stories matter, and of film lovers sharing in the journeys of independent film.
Our industry is ever shaped by daring pioneers who wanted to share something unique on the screen. And this challenge is me giving myself permission to step up as a cinematic artist, and to enjoy the journey too.
This project has no funding behind it or industry partners. It is just about me making a promise to myself and all of you that I will make this happen. Because over the past 10 years, perfectionism, maybe a bit of imposter syndrome have pushed me away from making this film. And now it’s about being unstoppable. Because I love filmmaking, and this film will be an expression of that.
Let’s make the magic happen.
